TJ Martinez is a Master in the discipline of Taekwondo. He has 24 years of experience in the ATA discipline where he has earned multiple degrees in the black belt. He earned his first black belt in 1995 and became a 6th degree in 2015 before attaining the distinguishment of Master in 2016. At the age of 32, Master Martinez became one of the youngest masters in the ATA organization, which proves his work ethic and desire for excellence are equally matched. Master Martinez is a student of the late Sr. Master Olford, a 7th degree black belt, and long standing pillar of his community. Master Martinez is trained and certified to teach a variety of weapons which contributes to him being one of the highest ranking, accredited black belts in East Texas.
Master Martinez is also a duly dedicated father and family oriented husband. He is married to his wife, Ayla, and father to his two daughters, Macey and Charlie, and two sons, Abram and Oliver. He is also a son to Cruz and Victoria Martinez (deceased). His father was a retired Army Drill Sergeant who served multiple tours in Vietnam and under his guidance and discipline Master Martinez learned the great importance of discipline and respect. His mother too, influenced Master Martinez by instilling qualities of patience, hard work, and compassion, which he carries with him both personally and professionally. Master Martinez will dedicate to the ATA school everything he has learned about Taekwondo, discipline and respect that he has learned from his teachers, parents, and family.
